How is an artist qualified to bake professionally?
I’ve been cooking and baking from scratch for as long as I can remember and have a deep love for food as an art form. My creativity is inextricable from the kitchen. I don’t recall a time I wasn’t dreaming up the next dinner party menu or loaf of bread.
When I’m wedging clay, I’m dreaming of kneading bread. When I’m frosting cupcakes, my mind wanders to glazing pots. It’s a beautiful little dance, and I’m into it.
Where is the bakehouse located?
Full Moon Bakehouse is a licensed Wisconsin cottage food operation run out of my home kitchen in Eau Claire. Everything is made in small batches — I know every loaf, every dozen bagels, every tray of cookies that leaves this kitchen.
Orders are delivered locally around the Eau Claire area. No storefront, no middleman — just baker to door.
Our ingredients
From berry to loaf.
We believe that food is only as good as the ingredients used to make it. We pride ourselves on our organic, fresh ingredients and never skimp on quality. Our flours are the backbone of the bakehouse — we use a mix of organic artisanal flour and flour made from organic grains we sprout and mill in-house. We seek out high quality ingredients, organic when available and the best, cleanest ingredients we can get our hands on. You can bet that you’re indulging in the good stuff, so to speak.
Sourced
Organic, heritage wheat from Midwest family farms. We know where our grain comes from — and so will you, eventually, through the grain story on every recipe.
Sprouted
We sprout the whole berries before milling. Sprouting activates enzymes, breaks down phytic acid, and creates a naturally sweeter, more digestible grain — better for you, better tasting.
Freshly milled
The grain is milled fresh right before baking. Whole-grain flour starts losing its most nutritious (and flavorful) parts within days of milling. Fresh-milled changes everything.
